A three-phase asynchronous slip ring motor (also known as a wound rotor asynchronous motor) is a special type of asynchronous motor. Its rotor windings are connected to an external circuit via slip rings and brushes, allowing the rotor circuit to be controlled by an external resistor or electronic device, thereby improving starting and speed regulation performance.
Basic structural components: (1) Stator: Similar to a regular three-phase asynchronous motor, it consists of an iron core and three-phase symmetrical windings, directly connected to a three-phase power supply. (2) Rotor: The windings are connected in a three-phase star configuration, with the ends led out to three slip rings (collector rings), connected to an external circuit via carbon brushes. (3) Slip rings and brushes: These enable electrical connection between the rotor windings and an external resistor or control device, allowing the rotor circuit to be connected to a variable resistor or frequency converter during operation.
