This training will enable the learner to achieve at least the following learning objectives:
- Split system air conditioning design
- Compressor
- Condenser
- Thermostatic expansion valve
- Evaporator
- Thermodynamic cycle in the refrigeration cycle
- Understanding the different connections
- Operation of a refrigeration/heat pump system
- Learning the proper method for charging and discharging a refrigeration system
- Checking for refrigerant leaks in the air conditioning system
- Reading, understanding, wiring, and testing the electrical circuits of the air conditioning system.
Troubleshooting the following faults at a minimum:
- Display board fault
- Ambient temperature sensor fault
- Compressor relay fault
- Condenser fan relay fault
- Condenser fan fault
- Reversing valve relay fault
- Reversing valve fault
- Evaporator fan motor failure.

The bench must be mounted on a metal frame.
It must be equipped with control, shut-off, and electrical safety devices such as an emergency stop.
It must include at least:
- A reversible split system air conditioner with a cooling capacity of 9000 or 12000 BTU
- Freon charging connections
- Condensate pump module
- Level switch module
- Overload switch module
- Remote control
- 220V-240VAC 50Hz power supply
