Detailed technical characteristics:
The trainer is geared toward current competency requirements, including the fundamentals of electricity(DC power circuits), single-phase and three-phase AC power circuits, power transformers, three-phase transformer banks, permanent magnet DC motors, three-phase rotating machines (induction machine and synchronous machine), and power factor correction.
The following topics should be covered:
AC and DC circuit concepts: resistance, Ohm's law, active and reactive power, phase angle, resolution of circuits, transformers.
Asynchronous machines: characteristics, operation as a brake/motor/eddy current generator, high-efficiency motors.
Synchronous machines: characteristics, operation as motor/generator, synchronization, voltage regulation, effort.
DC permanent magnet motor: characteristics, operation as a motor, operation as a generator.
Single-phase and three-phase transformers: relationships, windings, polarity, regulation, interconnections, configurations.
