1. Product Introduction
1.1 Product Description
The stator of a compound DC motor has two independent excitation windings: a series winding and a shunt winding. The two excitation methods are combined, hence the name compound DC motor. The series winding has fewer turns and thicker wires, and is connected in series with the rotor armature circuit to carry the armature operating current; the shunt winding has more turns and thinner wires, and is directly connected in parallel to the power supply to carry a constant small excitation current.
